A automotive door handle antenna is an onboard antenna integrated inside or near the car door handle, primarily used to enable the vehicle's keyless entry system (PEPS), near-field communication, and some intelligent connectivity functions. It communicates with smart keys and mobile phone keys via low-frequency (LF) or high-frequency (RF) signals, enabling automatic unlocking when the owner approaches the vehicle and automatic locking when they leave. It is an important component of intelligent automotive electronics.
Car door handle antennas typically work in conjunction with the body control module (BCM) and the keyless entry system. When the owner approaches the vehicle with the smart key, the low-frequency antenna inside the door handle sends a wake-up signal; upon receiving the signal, the smart key returns authentication information via radio frequency (RF); after the system completes authentication, the vehicle automatically unlocks and allows starting.
