Medium-voltage Grid-connected Photovoltaic Inverter (Intelligent Transformer Substation) refers to a complete integrated equipment system that combines the inverter, step-up transformer, and related low-voltage and medium-voltage power distribution, protection, and monitoring devices within a single enclosure or prefabricated container used in photovoltaic power plants. Its core function is to convert the DC power generated by photovoltaic modules into AC power through the inverter, and then directly step up the voltage within the same unit to enable connection to the medium-voltage grid.
This type of equipment is typically delivered in the form of a containerized or prefabricated station. It integrates inverter modules, AC distribution units, step-up transformers, switching and protection devices, as well as monitoring and communication systems. All functional units are assembled and factory-tested before delivery, so that on-site work is limited to foundation construction, cable connection, and grid-connection commissioning before the system can be put into operation.
During operation, the DC electricity generated by the photovoltaic array is first converted into AC power by the inverter module. It then passes through internal collection and protection circuits within the enclosure and enters the step-up transformer, where the voltage is increased to grid connection levels. The power is then exported through switching equipment. The entire process is completed within a single integrated unit, enabling a highly compact and integrated energy conversion and voltage transformation system.
